We don't normally put things from outside up here. this is for anyone that might be questioning their chosen path.

WHAT TEACHERS MAKE...

The dinner guests were sitting around the table discussing life.

One man, a CEO, decided to explain the problem with education. He argued, "What's a kid going to learn from someone who decided his best option in life was to become a teacher?"

He reminded the other dinner guests what they say about teachers: "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach."

To stress his point he said to another guest; "You're a teacher, Bonnie. Be honest. What do you make?"

Bonnie, who had a reputation for honesty and frankness replied, "You want to know what I make? (She paused for a second, then began...)

"Well, I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could.

I make a C+ feel like the Congressional Medal of Honour.

I make kids sit through 40 minutes of class time when their parents can't make them sit for 5 without an I Pod, Game Cube or movie rental...

You want to know what I make?" (She paused again and looked at each and every person at the table.)

I make kids wonder.

I make them question.

I make them criticize.

I make them apologize and mean it.

I make them have respect and take responsibility for their actions.

I teach them to write and then I make them write.

I make them read, read, read.

I make them show all their work in math.

I make my students from other countries learn everything they need to know in English while
preserving their unique cultural identity.

I make my classroom a place where all my students feel safe.

Finally, I make them understand that if they use the gifts they were given, work hard, and follow their hearts, they can succeed in life.

(Bonnie paused one last time and then continued.)

"Then, when people try to judge me by what I make, I can hold my head up high and pay no attention because they are ignorant...

You want to know what I make? I MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

On the weekend I went to the football in town with my family and it was good in there. We had fun at the football and I went for Palm Island. Barracudas but 1 thing it bin lust and after football i went to the pack with ma litty brother and sisters

Toyota cowboys - This newsletter article is about the Toyota Cowboys and things that you do in the community on Palm Island. Last weekend the Toyota cowboys played the Canberra raiders at the Dairy Farmers Stadium on Saturday the 4^th of August. On Saturday night I had a good weekend. We enjoyed ourselves and I went in with my aunty and uncle because my two brothers are re-signing for the Canberra Raiders next year.

The weekend - This article is about on the weekend me, Harriet, Cheryl and Eileen were swimming at the beach because the weather was so hot, Also we were running up and down the beach and it was fun. After that we saw the boat and then we ran up to the jetty and saw lots of people coming in and out of the jetty. Also Harriet wasnt expecting her Dad coming over from Townsville. When they saw him they all got excited and then went home.

This article is about Gordonvale state high school. Last year the Bwgcolman High School went to visit the school. When I went to see them they did not know I was at their school until they saw me at the corner of the building. They said to me come and sit down and talk to us but I was so shamed to go there. After I was shamed I just went to the tree and sat down with my school mates from Bwgcolman and it was so great to see them again at Bwgcolman High School.

OMG look at that!! the water looks beautiful out there. sort of a green and blue. it looks fantastic. mmm.... I wonder if they will miss me at work i think its swimmin time!
